RTV Nord Holland chooses Eyeheight playout

Dutch broadcaster RTV Nord Holland has chosen Eyeheight's 'playout' modular master control switching system for installation at its studios in Amsterdam.
The playout system was purchased via Broadcast Technical Projects bv, a jointly-owned subsidiary of Gerrit de Jonge and NOB.
RTV Nord Holland's Head of Television Services Wiljam Pongers said:"We broadcast a full 24 hours per day including on average 60 to 90 minutes of locally originated content. Located in our continuity suite, Eyeheight's playout enables us to break into the transmission playlist without interrupting the studio gallery. The playout system has proved very reliable. Its control menu enables routine transmission operations to be performed quickly, with more detailed levels of functionality easily accessible when required. playout's compactness is also major benefit."
Housed in a 1U chassis, playout is a scalable system including a mix/wipe module, keyer, audio/voice-over module, internal cross- point, logo-store and dual-channel 3D DVE. These can be integrated to match the need of individual broadcasters, from a simple automated A/B mixer up to a full-scale multi-channel master control system with manual over-ride. Up to three independent channels can be accommodated in the base configuration chassis.
The playout's mix/wipe module provides a wide range of wipes with user- preset edge characteristics, audio-follows-video, audio only, video only, audio lead and audio lag. Transitions can be performed via manual T-bar, timed with manual activation, or fully automated.The base chassis supports up to three keying modules with individual key, fill and background inputs plus dedicated preview output. All keyers can be operated independently or in parallel via a TK-10 control panel. Key and transition parameters can be preset and stored in internal user memories.
