ViewCast announce release of Niagara SchedulStream

ViewCast, a leading global provider of high-quality video communications for businesses and media enterprises, have announced the release of Niagara SchedulStream.
The company’s new application control software for scheduling the management of Windows Media and RealNetworks streaming video encoding, SchedulStream automates both live and on-demand encoding functions for simplified operations and streamlined workflows.
Niagara SchedulStream increases business productivity by enabling the remote management and scheduling of streaming and encoding servers. It also optimises scheduling workflows by utilizing streaming templates established for specific business applications.
In addition to automating encoding schedules, SchedulStream also integrates with Harris/Louth media management and automation systems, providing seamless integration into legacy broadcast studio and post-production equipment. Additionally, ViewCast's SchedulStream simplifies the digital archiving of video content on Niagara servers by utilizing Niagara SCX encoder management software.
Extra features offered by SchedulStream include the elimination of redundant encoding sessions using collision detection and an intuitive Web-based interface to allow users to schedule one-time, repeat, and ad-hoc encoding and streaming sessions. SchedulStream also provides the ability to insert metadata such as copyright, author, and title information.
Applications for SchedulStream include coordination of multiple encoders for training sessions; remote scheduling of classroom/conference room encoding; scheduling batch encoding for broadband, dial-up, and mobile customers; and the simultaneous encoding of Windows Media and RealNetworks formats for distance learning applications.
SchedulStream is available as a standard feature on all new Niagara systems. The scheduling software is also available as an upgrade option to current owners of Niagara systems.
