ENCO To Debut WebDAD 3.0 At IBC 2022

Radio broadcasters attending the IBC2022 exhibition in Amsterdam should be sure to visit the ENCO stand (8.C75) to experience demonstrations of WebDAD 3.0, the next generation of the company's browser-based, remote radio automation control solution.

The new version features a redesigned user interface and completely revamped architecture that enhance the user experience while laying an extensible and scalable foundation for future capabilities.

WebDAD lets users remotely manage and control studio-based ENCO DAD radio automation systems from anywhere with an internet connection. Offering remote access for everything from uploading content and modifying playlists to voice tracking, WebDAD enables flexible new remote working models for broadcasters by letting users efficiently manage their on-air operations even when personnel aren’t physically in the station's facilities.

Foremost amongst WebDAD 3.0's enhancements is a modernized redesign of its browser-based user interface. An updated layout makes operation even more intuitive and streamlines workflows for key features, while selectable dark/light modes let users tailor its look to their working environment and preferences. Reactive forms minimize the need to re-enter the same data in different sections of the workflow by retaining information across interface screens. Meanwhile, performance optimizations improve the responsiveness of the interface to users' actions.

WebDAD 3.0 also bolsters security with more granular control over user permissions, such as restricting access to specified libraries, functions, and systems. Additional updates include a simplified deployment model for easier installation and upgrades; enhanced cross-browser support; and new support for third-party accessibility assistance tools to improve usability for people with impairments or disabilities.

In addition to enabling remote management of on-premises DAD systems, WebDAD also serves as the user interface for ENCO’s DAD Disaster Recovery (DAD-DR) solution. A cloud-based companion to DAD automation systems, DAD-DR provides a continually synchronized clone of the broadcaster’s on-premises DAD deployment that is always ready to take over program and ad playout if a natural disaster or critical technical failure occurs. DAD-DR operators can use WebDAD to remotely update playlists, add new content, voice track shows, and perform library maintenance even if their physical station is completely out of commission or inaccessible.
