Eyeheight legalEyes chosen for JVC SNG fleet

Eyeheight legalEyes video legalisers have been chosen for installation into a new fleet of eight satellite newsgathering trucks.
Built for JVC Professional Europe Ltd by Leeds-based OB system specialist E2E, the vehicles will be available on a contract-hire basis and are initially scheduled for television production projects in Nigeria.
Three cameras, three VTRs and supporting graphics equipment are incorporated in each truck, providing a self-contained origination, postproduction and transmission resource. The Eyeheight legalisers will enable programme makers, editors, graphic artists and transmission staff to ensure that all video output stays within the safe standard levels defined for broadcast transmission. legalEyes conforms to EBU specification R103-2000 covering RGB colour space and luminance levels. Clipping and soft-clip level, luma and chroma gain and black level are adjustable from the front panel. A single-button R103-2000 setting on legalEyes optimises the video signal specifically to EBU recommended levels. Standard features include dual independent SDI outputs. An input loop output additional to the 'legalise' outputs can optionally be configured as a third (legal) output.
Other features include EDH signal re-insertion, which is of major importance in transmission applications. legalEyes uses full 10 bit signal processing of the 270 megabit/s SDI input signal. The legaliser's small size (half-rack width, 1U-high) makes it ideal for transportable production systems. It is fully compatible with Eyeheight's range of digital infrastructure equipment for broadcast and post-production applications.
