Fast Forward Video makes covert debut at NAB 2004

Fast Forward Video (FFV), a recognised innovator of digital video recorder (DVR) technology for professional broadcast, industrial video, presentation, and military applications, debuted its new ultra-compact Covert DVR at NAB2004 in Las Vegas this month.
First shown as a prototype at Government Video Expo in December 2003, the Covert DVR is a standalone, handheld, pocket-sized digital video recorder measuring only 5.7 x 1.0 x 3.55 inches. This DVR is designed for applications requiring broadcast quality recording - including extreme sports productions, law enforcement, emergency first responders, and military and government agency surveillance.
"The Covert DVR is a go-anywhere digital recording solution, with convenient storage and easy file transfer, that offers the ultimate in flexibility for virtually any application," said Kevin McNally, vice president of sales at Fast Forward Video. "What really sets the Covert DVR apart as a miniature, standalone DVR is the exceptional image quality, featuring scalable Motion JPEG (MJPEG) compression for maximum image capture and outstanding 720 x 486 pixel image resolution on every frame. Freeze any frame, and you get a faultless picture every time."
Two Covert DVR models are available, providing a choice of storage options for users. Small enough to fit in the palm of the hand, slip into a pocket, or hang on a belt, the Covert DVR cf is configured with two compact flash card slots for easy removal and transfer of recorded video.
The Covert DVR ide provides a choice between an ATAPI/IDE hard drive or a solid-state flash drive. ATAPI hard drives are available in robust 2.5-inch sizes ranging from 20 to 80 GB capacities or in a shockproof solid state style with capacities of 1 to 34 GB. All models are equipped for file transfer via an on-board USB 2.0 port and provide removable, rechargeable lithium-ion batteries or low voltage DC power input combined with low power drain for full portability.
