BBC TAKE DELIVERY OF ORATOR INTERCOM SYSTEMS

THE BBC have recently taken delivery of additional Trilogy Broadcast Orator intercom systems for the TV Centre, Wood Lane.
This follows previous experience with Trilogy equipment and has recently resulted in the BBC upgrading a Commander system at their Millbank facility, used for reporting on parliamentary sessions, to full network ready status. This enables Millbank to communicate with TV Centre directly over a single network.
The BBC operates one of the world’s largest intercom systems, based on a multiple Trilogy Commander and Orator installations with a capability of over 1500 matrix ports and over 350 user panels. As the largest Commander matrix is 570 x 570 a Commander pre-router has been used to expand port capability.
The BBC also has a large number of subsidiary matrices with average matrix ports measured in the 100’s. (CD)
