Molinare’s Avid Adrenaline gets Hamlet

Leading London post house Molinare has included Adept signal monitoring units from Hamlet in each of nine new Avid edit suites built recently.
The Adept provides on-screen video and audio quality monitoring, allowing Molinare to create simple and uncluttered working environments without compromising technical efficiency.
“Each of the nine new rooms contains an Avid Adrenalin,” explained Darren Woolfson of Molinare. “The design of the rooms is quite minimal, with no large desk and traditional broadcast clutter. There is a single, flat-screen broadcast quality monitor, and that seemed the perfect place to put waveform and audio monitoring.
“The Hamlet Adept is a very cost-effective solution, especially as it includes on-screen PPMs for audio. We have specified SDI in and out, and it provides all the quality checks we need without taking up much desk space. If we need a clean picture it is simple to switch off the burn-in.”
Steve Nunney of Hamlet added: “A year ago we won a ‘pick of show’ award at NAB2003 for Adept, which we developed for applications just like the Molinare requirement. It provides precise waveform monitoring, vectorscope and audio level and phase, displayed on screen for the editor, in a small and frankly low-cost box. We are delighted to see our units in the new suites at Molinare, which are a clear indication of the way that the post industry is moving, towards all-purpose online/offline editing in a clean, creative environment.”
The Molinare contract was negotiated by the sales division of global broadcast solutions company Gearhouse Broadcast on behalf of Hamlet.
