Leitch equip cruise liner
Leitch Technology Corporation have announced a significant sale of their VRNetserver system, together with accompanying distribution amplifiers (DAs), signal converters and routers, to a Royal Caribbean cruise liner.
Sold through Leitch’s Finnish reseller, TV Tools, the equipment will be used for running the safety videos, casino instructions, movies and all daily schedules. It will be installed on board in June 2003 in preparation for the official launch of the liner, Mariner of the Seas, the following October.
Designed and built to meet the stringent requirements of broadcasters, the VRNet server system’s reliability and security are among the reasons it is selected by many users whose success depends on the quality of service they provide. The system’s integrated RAIDsoft provides protection against multiple drive failures while effectively limiting the need for parity drives, thereby providing more space for media storage.
