OFCOM seek members for Shadow Content Board

OFCOM, currently being established subject to final parliamentary approval, are seeking to recruit members for their Content Board, to be considered Shadow until OFCOM are fully operational.
The Shadow Content Board will be concerned with a wide range of content issues as they affect viewers, listeners and citizens, predominantly dealing with broadcasting but also responsible for the development of media literacy.
The Board wish to draw membership widely from across the UK, focusing in this first wave of recruitment on specific national Members for Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and England (as set out in the Communications Bill).
Applicants will need to be genuinely interested in the range of challenging content concerns relating to quality and standards, harm and offence, diversity, plurality, localism/regionalism and public service broadcasting in their home nations and regions and across the UK.
OFCOM are seeking a broad range of members to ideally include young people, both men and women, a reasonable spread of public opinion on content matters, a diversity of background, ethnic and religious voices and the disabled.
