IgniterX video capture and editing card chosen by Wieck
Aurora Video Systems has announced that Texas-based Wieck Media Services is using the Aurora IgniterX to capture and digitise video product announcements for delivery, via the Internet, to news outlets across the country.
By making high-quality, ‘B-roll’ product shots available online rather than on beta tapes, Wieck reduces the time and cost typically required to ship material to media outlets in time for inclusion on their evening broadcasts.
Wieck Media Services, whose clients include GM, Ford, Honda, and Mitsubishi, uses the latest in technologies to make video available to broadcast outlets within minutes of an event taking place.
"Our clients deliver the tapes to us as soon as the event is over, we then digitise them with Aurora's IgniterX video capture and editing card, and post broadcast-ready versions online for news outlets to download and replay," said Bobby Warren, Wieck Media's Network Manager. "The clients don't have to rely on costly overnight tape delivery nor do they have to worry about media missing an expensive satellite shot to get their message. The video is available 24/7/365 on the Web for the broadcasters to use."
The IgniterX provides Wieck Media Services with a way to get info to the media much faster while reducing or eliminating administration, shipping, and tape costs. Previously, video had been sent to each network on a beta tape and made available via satellite shot. Wieck selected Aurora's IgniterX for its real-time capture capability, the high quality of the video, the card's tight integration with Final Cut Pro, and its support for Mac OS X, a feature that ensures future compatibility with new Apple systems.
