IBC APPOINTS 2002 CONFERENCE CHAIRMAN
Martin Salter has been appointed Chairman of the IBC2002 Conference Committee.
Salter has worked closely with IBC for many years and has been a member of the Conference Committee since 1998. He has served as Tutorial Mini-Conference Convenor and in 1999 joined the IBC Management Committee representing the International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers (IABM). He is also Conference Director for BroadcastAsia where IBC is responsible for the editorial programme.
As well as being widely known and respected as a "technology based" marketing consultant, Salter is the Chairman of the Management Committee of the IABM.
Prior to his current consultant activities, he held positions as Director of Strategic Marketing for Philips Digital Video Systems following a similar position as Director of Marketing for Ampex - Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Salter has dedicated his entire professional career to the broadcasting industry, starting over 39 years ago working in the tele-recording department at the BBC's UK Television Centre.
A Chartered Engineer, Salter is a Fellow of the Institution of Electrical Engineers and a member of The Royal Television Society, SMPTE and IEEE. Lecturing on many television and recording related topics world-wide, his travels have taken him to all quarters of the globe including most of Eastern Europe.
