Sony selects Ciprico's DiMeda

Ciprico, the leading provider of storage solutions that simplify and accelerate digital media workflows, has announced that its high-performance Network Attached Storage (NAS) product, DiMeda1700, has been selected for inclusion in Sony's new DVLince all-in-one digital production system.
Combining Ciprico's NAS appliance software with the latest serial ATA drive technology, the award-winning DiMeda 1700 enables real-time file sharing of up to 25 streams of high-resolution digital video. Sony's DVLince complete, integrated system enables the professional production and broadcasting of video and audio content. Together, Sony and Ciprico provide a compact, affordable solution ideal for a wide variety of collaborative video editing and play-to-air applications for the broadcast, enterprise, government, and educational markets.
Sony selected DiMeda 1700 for its exceptional performance, larger capacity, and ease of use. Using Gigabit Ethernet networks, DiMeda 1700 provides file storage services that enable DVLince customers to dramatically improve their production workflow by simultaneously editing and sharing data. Additionally, DiMeda's use of low-cost serial ATA drives reduces total cost of ownership for small businesses and broadcast stations that are looking for more cost- effective, server-based systems to produce their marketing materials or generate news operations.
"We chose the DiMeda 1700 because it provided the best performance at the best price," said Miguel Angel Sanchez, DVLince Solution Architect. "The DVLince system was designed to be an affordable alternative for collaborative and creative programming, using a NAS device at its core. The DiMeda 1700 proved to be very easy to use, and it out-performed all the other solutions in its class. By using the DiMeda 1700, we can provide our customers with a professional-grade system that really meets their needs."
