Avid UK strengthens technical support team

Avid Technology Europe has announced two new appointments at its UK operation, a move designed to strengthen the company’s technical support service.
Woody Lidstone and Jody Neckles both join the company as Customer Service Engineers, providing support for Avid’s core editing systems to the UK postproduction community. The new appointees demonstrate Avid’s continuing commitment to its direct customers by investing in additional expertise.
Woody Lidstone brings a wealth of practical knowledge to the Avid support operation. He joins Avid from CBC in Canada where he was an online editor, working on national specials and factual series in an Avid Unity shared environment. An Avid Certified Instructor (ACI), Lidstone spent several years training editors on the Avid Symphony system and also worked as a freelance online editor on diverse projects including factual series for The Discovery Channel and various commercial spots.
Jody Neckles has extensive experience of the media production and postproduction environments, having held technical roles at several leading companies including VTR and Clear Post. Most recently he served as Technical Director at Outpost Digital, working on a variety of design and implementation solutions within the facility.
Initially, Lidstone and Neckles will capitalise on their immediate skills to provide cover for core editing products, from Avid Xpress DV software up to Avid Media Composer Adrenaline systems. Their roles will eventually evolve with the rest of the team to accommodate the broad range of products, including Avid Unity, Avid DS Nitris and Digidesign Pro Tools systems, extending the overall product support capabilities within the group.
Avid’s UK Customer Service operation is based in its Poland Street, London office.
