BIGGEST SL 9000 J IN EUROPE FOR GUILLAUME TELL

EARLIER this year Studio Guillaume Tell, the French recording and mixing facility, decided to install the largest SL 9000 J Series SuperAnalogue console in continental Europe.
The new 96-channel console, fitted with an SL 959 multichannel monitoring panel for multi-format 5.1 mixing, replaces the five-year-old 80-channel SL 9000 J in Studio A. Both the control room and the large 240 square metre live area have been the subject of recent substantial refurbishments.
Studio Guillaume Tell’s owner, the highly regarded mixing engineer Roland Guillotel, accounts for the decision, explaining: “As we aim to provide our clients with unrivalled flexibility we decided to offer an even larger console. The 96-channels provide many advantageous and make it easier to work with two 48-track machines or Pro Tools simultaneously. Amazingly, the very first session in the new room used all 96 channels! We stayed with the SL 9000 J Series because this desk has an impressive sound quality that our clients recognise and appreciate.”
In addition to its new console, the control room in Studio A now boasts an all-new stereo to 5.1 surround sound monitoring system, featuring custom-designed Boxer monitors. It was in this studio that the first French DVD was produced in 1998, reflecting Studio Guillaume Tell’s considerable experience in the field of multi-format mixing for film and music.
