ITV To Broadcast Welcome To Yorkshire Ebor Festival

ITV Racing has announced it will broadcast the Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor Festival at York from 1.30pm to 4pm every day from Wednesday 21st to Saturday 24th August on ITV.

The Opening Show preview programme is on at 9.30-10.30am on Saturday 24th August on ITV4.

Broadcast Sports Presenters of the Year Ed Chamberlin and Francesca Cumani host exclusive free-to-air coverage live from York. Joining Ed and Francesca for expert analysis will be Jason Weaver (every day), Johnny Murtagh (Wednesday and Thursday) and Kevin Blake (Friday and Saturday).

Reporting will be Oli Bell and Luke Harvey with Matt Chapman bringing all the betting news, Chris Hughes in the social stable and Richard Hoiles in the commentary box. Lorraine’s Mark Heyes will join the team Wednesday to Friday and Good Morning Britain’s Charlotte Hawkins will join Mark on Thursday, Ladies Day. Brough Scott will also be on the podium on Wednesday.

The Opening Show, hosted by Oli Bell alongside Matt Chapman, Jason Weaver, Kevin Blake, Luke Harvey and Rishi Persad will look back at a wonderful week of racing and preview the best of Saturday’s action including the Sky Bet Ebor, the first one-million- pound handicap race on the flat in Europe.

The weekly highlights will be the Juddmonte International Stakes on Wednesday where the Japanese horse, Cheval Grand, is set to take on the British favourite Crystal Ocean;

Thursday sees Enable, the superstar filly set to further her claims as one of the greatest ever in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks and on Friday viewers are in for a huge treat with both Bataash set to scorch up the Knavesmire in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes and Stradivarius out to again claim the Stayers million pound bonus with a win in the Weatherbys Hamilton Lonsdale Cup.

Frankie Dettori could again be the star of the weekriding both Enable and Stradivarius.

The ITV Racing team will have all the action covered and show some memorable features including a Sea the Stars special with jockey Mick Kinane and trainer John Oxx ten years on from the horse winning the Juddmonte, and a feature on the Yorkshire favourite, Borderlescott who raced 85 times and won the Nunthorpe Stakes in both 2008 and 2009.

There will also be a feature with John Gosden as he remembers the 10th anniversary of the Lloyd-Webber owned Dar Re Mi winning the Yorkshire Oaks.

The Bafta-winning team will visit the Emmerdale set, and will have all the action covered on Ladies Day.
