Munro Acoustics complete blue upgrade

Operating from within the competitive arena of London’s West End, postproduction facility blue has recently renovated one of the main sound studios at its Old Compton Street premises.
Studio acoustic and design specialists Munro Acoustic won the tender to refit Studio One, which is used for television post-production and film trailers. All the internal fabric was replaced, new lights, windows and blinds were installed and the Logic 3 console was re-housed in an oak desk custom-built for blue by Form & Funktion.
Samantha Greenwood, Director at blue, said: “We have three sound studios and they are all very busy. Studio One is the oldest and was in need of a facelift to keep it in line with our exacting standards. Munro Acoustics came highly recommended so we decided to give them a try. This is the first time we have worked with them and we’ve been really happy with the results.”
blue handles work from all the main broadcasters including the BBC. Its facilities include Spirit, Telecine, Flame, Editbox, Sound, Avid and On-Line.
Munro Acoustics director Clive Glover said: “Postproduction is a competitive business, which is why it’s important for West End companies like blue to keep their facilities up to date. Studio One was performing well acoustically but it did need a facelift and we were delighted that blue chose us for the task.”
