Kaos British Short Film Competition attracts NFTS support
Kaos Films Limited has announced that the third annual British Short Screenplay Competition (BSSC) is to be run in association with the UK's premier film school, the National Film and Television School (NFTS).
The British Short Screenplay Competition was set up by Kaos Films as the only competitive and international short screenplay competition that undertakes to produce the winning screenplay. From its inception Kaos wanted the BSSC to become the premier showcase for emerging international screenwriting talent and the platform for young British directing and producing talent.
The winning screenplay will not only be directed by the top graduate of that year's director's course at NFTS, all the finalists writers will be invited to apply to the NFTS and guaranteed an interview with the Writing Programme selectors.
The Competition has attracted entries from all parts of the world and the panel of judges has been honoured with Stephen Woolley, Nik Powell, Natascha Wharton, Leslee Udwin, Charles Dance and Piers Jackson.
The 2004 competition is now open and the winners will be announced in July 2004. The competitions' independent panel of judges will provide the school with the best short screenplay from across the world each year to be directed by the top post graduate student irrespective of budgetary costs.
The competition is open to all, young, old, produced, unproduced, veterans and novices to the film industry.
The British Short Screenplay Competition is now receiving entries for the 2004 competition. The closing date for entries is Friday May 28 2004. The winners will be announced on July 16 2004.
