NewTek UK Education Awards Now Open For Entries

The annual NewTek UK Education Awards are now open for entries.

Launched in October 2017, the awards recognise excellence in creating alluring videos or live streams, by students and staff at colleges and universities across the country, using NewTek technology.

The awards are open to any UK educational establishment, faculty or student. Newtek is seeking creative content entries from any of the following categories:
• Music
• Live Broadcast/Event
• News, Entertainment
• Factual/Documentary
• E-learning
• Sports & E-sports

The process of taking part requires little more than a team, stellar content, and a submission of the video entry before 30 April, 2019. No minimum or maximum length, or subject is requires, however, NewTek does state content must be, "good, legal, decent, honest, and true".

Last year's diverse award winners provided a range of submission subjects and content including Best Video 2018 – The Mary Rose Live: Human Endeavours by BSc (Hons) Television and Broadcasting students at University of Portsmouth; Best E-Learning UK Content – Good 2 Learn: Fractions ESTV by Creative Media Production students at Grimsby Institute; Best Existing UK Content – Ganda-boys: Live from Middlesex University by TV-Studios Television Production at Middlesex University; and Best New UK Content – The Mary Rose Live: Human Endeavours by BSc (Hons) Television and Broadcasting students at University of Portsmouth.

The panel of appointed judges, which will be announced shortly, is comprised of content and technical broadcast experts, who will base scores on the following criteria:

• Originality
● Creativity
● Production Quality
● Technical Ability

Winners will be announced 21 May 2019 with the award ceremony following on 12 June 2019, at The Media Production Show in London taking place on 11-12th June, 2019 at Olympia London, featuring exhibitors across pre-production, post and content distribution.
