New Opus™ Series Of HDMI-To-HDBaseT Matrix Switchers Now Shipping

News Image
Atlona is now shipping the new Opus™ series of HDMI-to-HDBaseT matrix switchers.

A 2018 CEDIA Expo award-winner from Residential Systems, the Opus family of switchers – available in 4x6, 6x8 and 8x10 models – is ideal for any small-to-medium-sized multi-zone AV distribution application. Comprehensive control system integration and audio matrixing features simplify incorporation of the new switchers into both residential and commercial environments.

The AT-OPUS-46M (4x6), AT-OPUS-68M (6x8) and AT-OPUS-810M (8x10) matrix switchers all feature HDBaseT outputs and can transmit HDMI, Ethernet pass through, bidirectional IR, and RS-232 control signals to compatible receivers over distances of up to 330 feet (100 meters). Opus matrix switchers can be paired with dedicated AT-OPUS-RX companion receivers or used in conjunction with the also-recently-released AT-JUNO-451-HDBT 4×1 HDMI and HDBaseT switcher to combine centralized and local AV switching. Each Opus switcher model offers flexible routing between an equal count of HDMI inputs and HDBaseT outputs, complemented by two HDMI outputs for exceptional installation versatility.

All three Opus matrix switchers comply with the HDCP 2.2 specification for protected content and support 4K/UHD video at 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling, as well as HDMI data rates up to 18 Gbps. The new switchers fully support all video resolutions, audio formats and color spaces in the HDMI 2.0b specification and offer flexible compatibility with high dynamic range (HDR) formats including 4K HDR10 at 60 Hz and Dolby® Vision™, as well as HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) for future 60p HDR broadcast services. Visually-lossless VESA Display Stream Compression (DSC) enables HDR and 4K/60 4:4:4 signal delivery over HDBaseT with no latency while providing pristine image quality.

Flexible, independent audio matrix switching routes de-embedded HDMI input audio, TOSLINK and analog stereo audio sources – as well as return audio from a television over HDBaseT – to parallel TOSLINK and analog audio outputs, allowing easy integration with whole-house audio systems.

Opus matrix switchers can be controlled via the included IR remote, intuitive front-panel controls or the units' integrated graphical web interface. The new switchers can be managed and configured via Atlona's IP-based, cloud-enabled Velocity™ AV control platform or the Atlona Management System (AMS 2.0) software, while TCP/IP and RS-232 control capabilities enable easy integration with third-party control systems. OPUS-RX receivers are remotely powered over Ethernet (PoE) and can transport IR control signals bi-directionally, enabling remote IR control of source devices from OPUS-RX locations.

"As the adoption of HDR-enabled display devices continues to proliferate, integrators and systems designers increasingly need flexible and feature-rich AV distribution solutions that can be easily right-sized to match their projects and applications without cumbersome installation and configuration requirements," said Joshua Castro, product manager, Atlona. "The Opus series of HDMI-to-HDBaseT matrix switchers addresses these needs while supporting the latest and emerging 4K/UHD and HDR formats, and we’re thrilled to begin shipping them to customers."

All three Opus switcher models and the OPUS-RX receiver are available immediately and are backed by Atlona's award-winning 10-year limited product warranty and customer support services, ensuring long-term product reliability and performance in both residential and commercial systems.
