Supershere And Oculus To Partner For Upcoming Conference Livestreams

Supersphere is joining forces with Oculus to live stream keynotes and immersive eSports tournaments at the upcoming Oculus Connect Conference, 26-27 September at San Jose's McEnery Convention Center.

Oculus Connect (OC5) is Oculus' annual virtual reality developer conference bringing together developers and creators alike to pursue innovation in VR.

Supersphere will produce 180° live streams of key event highlights for Oculus' social app Venues, including Venues' first-ever immersive eSports tournaments.

Supersphere first pioneered immersive, customisable live streaming capabilities for eSports at this year's E3 conference, with its creative team offering bespoke 180°/360° environments and its technical team designing and building flexible flypacks to handle the demands of any production.

Supersphere's 12G live production flypacks are equipped with a range of cameras, including ZCAM, RED, and others; Blackmagic Design's ATEM 4 M/E Broadcast Studio 4K live production switchers to handle multiple content streams including 360°, 180°, 4K, or HD; ASSIMILATE'S SCRATCH VR Z software to enable real time geometry integration and stitching; and proprietary hardware and software solutions that all combine to let viewers see the players, teams, in-game feeds, social media input, and integrated graphics.

On the lineup for Supersphere are both days of OC5 keynote presentations, and the semi-finals and finals for worldwide eSports tournaments of Downpour Interactive's Onward and Ready at Dawn's Echo VR. Supersphere expects to produce about 16 hours of content across both days of OC5, all available live via Oculus Venues.
