Enhancements Unveiled For Custom Consoles Module-R Desks

A number of enhancements have been unveiled for Custom Consoles' Module-R family of studio control room furniture and SystemTwo edit-suite desks.

The company will introduce the improvements on stand 8.B38e at IBC 2018 in Amsterdam, 14-18 September.

"Module-R is one of our longest established product ranges, installed and operating successfully in many broadcast networks, post production houses and playout facilities around the world," said Custom Consoles' Managing Director Neil Reed. "It was developed to give customers and system integrators the freedom to specify desks and storage pods of practically any shape and size from a range of standard modules. The new version incorporates slimmer legs plus a removable rear work surface which allows easy access to cableways. A full length rear cable brush strip provides greater flexibility for power and signal feeds to desk-mounted monitor arms. Optional full-height end panels are now available. Customers can now choose CDF (Compact Density Fibreboard) for pods and work surfaces. CDF is increasingly being recommended by architects both for its attractive styling and its robustness."

A mix-and-matchable control room furniture range, Custom Consoles' Module-R allows aesthetically attractive long-life desks to be configured to meet specific shapes and dimensions from a selection of high-quality pods, base sections, 19 inch rack housings, worktops, end-panel modules and legs. Coordinated desk pods are available as single-bay sections with up 10 U chassis capacity. Module-R has been tested by FIRA to ensure compliance with current ISO standards. It is supplied with full cable management and internal 19 inch racking, accessible via removable front and rear cover panels. All rear surfaces and pods are completely interchangeable. A full length cable brush allows easy reconfiguration.

"SystemTwo has also been redesigned to match the new style and colour scheme of Module-R," added Sales Manager Gary Fuller. "Designed for use in edit suites and graphics areas, SystemTwo comprises a rectangular desk and parallel monitor shelf, both being electrically height adjustable from 660 to 1200 mm. This gives operators the choice of working while seated or standing. Lift load for both platforms has been doubled to 200 kilograms, again with a slimmer leg design and CDF desktop surfaces. Other elements in the SystemTwo series include an 11 U equipment pedestal, underslung 3U equipment pod and 27 U equipment bay. All will be available in the new styling. We will continue to offer the original SystemTwo for customers who prefer the latter's light-wood desk surfaces, large-radius curved styling and silver legs."
