Asian News International To Upgrade Its Entire LiveU Fleet

Asian News International (ANI) is set to upgrade its entire LiveU news-gathering fleet with LiveU's LU600 HEVC units.

The project has been overseen by LiveU's partner in India, Lamhas Satellite Services, which provides onsite service and support nationwide.

ANI first started using LiveU in 2011 and was a pioneer in moving its news-gathering to cellular bonding technology. The leading news agency uses LiveU for breaking and developing news around the country and abroad. In 2014, LiveU was used widely for ANI's Indian general election coverage, covering the campaign and Election Day itself.

ANI selected the LU600 HEVC after extensive testing due to its high video performance and reliability combined with its proven ability to support high quality broadcasting at a low bandwidth.

Mr. Ishaan Prakash, Editor at ANI Live Service, said: "We've been using LiveU exclusively for years with close support from LiveU and its local partner, Lamhas. When we looked into upgrading our equipment, LiveU's LU600 HEVC was our first choice, offering the highest quality solution available today. We're deploying these units around the country, giving us the flexibility to cover top news stories wherever they break."

"We are happy that once again ANI has placed their trust with LiveU and Lamhas by selecting the LU600 HEVC," said Ajay Jain, CEO at Lamhas. "ANI is highly respected in the local and international broadcast market and their selection of LiveU is a vote of confidence in our technology and service. We're seeing growing demand for the LU600 HEVC from our customers nationwide."

Samuel Wasserman, LiveU's CEO and co-founder, added: "ANI has been a real pioneer in moving to cellular bonding in 2011, and their success with LiveU technology over the years has been extremely important for us. We are very proud that ANI has selected LiveU's LU600 HEVC and hope that together we will continue to set the standard in the newsgathering industry. ANI has become a true partner over the years."

LiveU is presenting its enhanced range of live IP video uplink services and streaming solutions at Broadcast Asia in Singapore, June 26-28 2018, Stand 6J4-01.
