Pomfort Releases LiveGrade Pro Upgrade

News Image
Pomfort, a provider of professional software solutions, has released the latest version of its LiveGrade Pro software.

LiveGrade Pro Version 4 now makes live camera metadata available directly in the software and allows for even greater control over the live image.

LiveGrade Pro is the standard software for look management on set and beyond. With the new version the software introduces an automated way for logging and organizing camera metadata.

LiveGrade Pro allows users to automatically capture and edit camera metadata live during the shoot. It extracts the extensive camera metadata information that is embedded in the HD-SDI outputs of professional cameras, such as the ARRI Alexa, Sony CineAlta, and Panasonic Varicam cameras, and displays it directly in the software. This allows DPs and DITs to always maintain consistency and stay in control, even in complex multi-camera setups. All camera metadata combined with the creative look information can be stored automatically in LiveGrade Pro's Shot Library.

The Shot Library contains all essential look and camera metadata organized by individual shots, including image references, color information and camera settings. This way a convenient and comprehensive documentation of the shooting day is created. In addition, the ability to export all data from the Shot Library as shot reports and share them with the team makes it easy for DITs, DPs and second units to keep track of a all shot-related information throughout the shooting day.

LiveGrade Pro v4 furthermore adds an extension of live color grading controls, as native video scopes are now available. Users can now use different kinds of video scopes such as waveform, vectorscope, and histogram to judge image characteristics and determine any adjustments to camera settings that need to be made.

"Information exchange and communication on the film set are becoming increasingly important, as the complexity of film shoots constantly increases," said Patrick Renner, Product Manager at Pomfort. "Version 4 of LiveGrade Pro really puts the communicative aspect into focus, by integrating and consolidating data on the live image from various sources, and making it easily sharable amongst the team. Having one single source of information for all data related to the live image simplifies the maintaining of consistency across different units, and facilitates collaboration in the overall production process."
