Mark Harrison Discusses The Transformation Of The Media Industry
Mark Harrison, Managing Director of Digital Production Partnership (DPP), discusses the transformation of the media industry and the ever-increasing need to exchange vast amounts of content within and across boundaries.
The DPP is a Membership-based, not-for-profit company, founded by its shareholders: ITV, BBC and Channel 4. Its Membership represents the whole media supply chain: production companies, manufacturers, suppliers, service providers, post production facilities, consultancies, broadcasters, distributors, and not-for-profit organisations.
Asked about what the DPP's predictions are focussed on Harrison said: "Over the next couple of years we are going to see media businesses develop time, effort, resource, money and investment to ensure that they can actually extract meaningful business data from every part of the process of which they are engaged. You have to do that if you are going to stay relevant and serve the audience."
