Mount Pleasant Studio Celebrates Busy Year

Mount Pleasant Studio has had its busiest year, hosting a wide mixture of commercials, broadcast promos and productions, movie VFX work and corporate videos for new and returning clients.

Recently Hugh Grant was filming green screen VFX shots for 'Paddington 2' at the studio, and Rebel Wilson was interviewed about upcoming 'Pitch Perfect 3'. Both were sound shoots – Mount Pleasant is one of the only soundproofed studios in central London. The soundproofing is so good that video games company Side use the studio for 'sound-only' voice recordings for their high profile award-winning games.

In September the studio hosted Riff Raff Films's excellent charity commercial for breast cancer charity Coppafeel! This made history by featuring the fully visible nipple on daytime UK TV, which in itself raised the profile of the charity and its mission to encourage regular breast checks.

Another first was a GIF only shoot for PG Tips featuring their famous monkey – in its sock puppet version. Creative and production was by Analog Folk, one of the many agencies and production companies that have recently moved to the Farringdon/Clerkenwell area.

Video Arts returned for a four days training video project with comedy stars including Sally Phillips. Sally Winter, Head of Content at Video Arts said: "Mount Pleasant is the go-to studio for all our London shoots. Apart from the brilliant location and facilities, the team are fantastic and are always on hand to make sure things run smoothly for the whole crew."

Rockhound recently shot a series of commercials for Finish, directed by Ben Bannister. Producer Greg Mills had this to say: "We all want our lives to be made as easy as possible and we're only as good as the people we work with... Mount Pleasant Studio meets both these criteria and more. If you're in the right place at the right time, you must be shooting at Mount Pleasant Studio."

As well as pre-rigged spacelights connected to a state of the art control desk, the studio has a broad range of in-house lighting from 12Ks down to Dedo kits, via the studio's latest acquisition, a Kinoflo Flathead 80.

Any lighting not available in-house can be hired in at competitive rates. Mount Pleasant is the only studio to be powered by 100% sustainable energy, having been supplied via Ecotricity's wind farms for over ten years.
