Mitcorp create regional subsidiary

Mitcorp UK this week became the first supplier to offer the broadcast industry a range of products and services that cater for the entire programme-making process, from camera to screen.
Following McMillan UK recently being placed into receivership and then ceasing trading, Mitcorp UK set up a subsidiary to "fill the vacuum left in the regional market."
The newly formed regional arm, Mitcorp Digital Media, also offers software and IT products for the industry meaning Mitcorp UK Ltd now caters for the complete production and postproduction process from acquisition to transmission.
Mitcorp UK Ltd Managing Director Symon Meikle, said: "In the past we were only able to offer our customers part of the picture, now we are able to provide an all-encompassing technical solution to meet their increasingly complex needs.
"The forming of new regional offices in addition to our London office means we can now also offer substantially improved regional support with the clear benefits of the economies of scale a successful business such as ours can bring."
The Mitcorp Digital Media division team is led by McMillan UK Ltd’s former broadcast division director Mark Forth. He is now sales director for the newly formed Mitcorp Digital Media division.
The company is the only broadcast distributor to provide complete systems and solutions – referred to within the industry as ‘glass to glass’- from acquisition through editing, graphics and final output.
Among other new products, Mitcorp Digital Media will sell Sonic Solutions’ DVD Authoring systems and Avid Xpress’s Pro non-linear editing systems in addition the existing range of Mitcorp products including SD and HD production and post-production hardware.
