Panasonic unveil high-performance DVCPRO studio editing VTR

Panasonic have announced the availability of the AJ-SD755, a high-performing DVCPRO studio editing VTR that offers users precise jog/shuttle control and an IEEE 1394 digital interface to facilitate computer-based nonlinear editing.
"The new AJ-SD755 delivers outstanding digital video and audio quality and reflects Panasonic's continuing commitment to the development of DVCPRO as the world's leading digital news format," said Stuart English, Vice President, Marketing, Panasonic Broadcast. "The incorporation of IEEE 1394 and DV/DVCAM/DVCPRO playback permits users to maximize the flexibility of their acquisition and editing solutions, while at the same time maintaining DVCPRO's legendary product reliability and low operating costs."
Ideal for such applications as nonlinear and machine-to-machine editing, and line record/satellite feed operations, the AJ-SD755 records for 184 minutes in DVCPRO and DV 4:1:1 25Mbps digital component format, and features auto-format playback detection for seamless playback of DVCPRO, DVCAM and DV format cassettes (an adaptor is required for Mini-DV format cassette playback). With the IEEE 1394 digital interface available with the optional AJ-YAD955G board, the AJ-SD755 offers lossless dubbing of native video and audio signals to Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows-based editing applications.
This compact 4RU-size VTR includes extensive front-panel editing controls and an illuminated jog/shuttle search dial. The VTR performs frame-accurate, tape-to-tape editing, and its extensive editing capabilities include assemble, insert and manual editing, as well as preview, review and trim capabilities. The AJ-SD755 accepts large and medium DVCPRO cassettes; DVCAM (small/large) and DV (standard/mini) cassettes.
