Philips and Sky Brazil consolidate partnership

Philips Electronics and Sky Brazil (Sky Brasil Serviços Ltda), Latin America's leading provider of Direct-to-Home (DTH) pay-TV satellite services, have recently signed a new two-year agreement to continue their successful partnership for the supply and distribution of digital set-top boxes for Sky's satellite pay-TV network.
Philips have designed and developed a compact set-top box for Sky's Latin American pay-TV operations that blends well in Philips' total line of CE retail products. Sky and Philips have agreed to aggressively co-market the new product together with Sky's interactive digital services, utilising Philips' distribution network.
"I was impressed with the end result of the new decoder. Sky is always looking for partners who not only add value to the services they provide, but who can also frequently exceed their technological quality, as we too are an operator with very high digital capability. Throughout the five years of this partnership Philips has shown just that," said Renato Cavion, Commercial Director at Sky Brazil.
