AMP Launches New Drone Training Course

News Image
Aerial Motion Pictures and the National Film and Television School have announced a partnership to deliver a new drone cinematography course for film and television professionals.

The Drone Qualification Course In Partnership with Aerial Motion Pictures (AMP) Home of Fly ICARUS Commercial Drone Training School will take place between 22 and 24 May, 2017. It will consist of expert advice, theory and practical experience to help camera operators and directors of photography to get closer to the action than ever before.

The three-day course has been crafted by Matt Williams, Managing Director of Aerial Motion Pictures, and his colleague, Operations Director Callum Bannister, specifically for film and television professionals.

Matt Williams said: "It is fantastic to be partnering with the NFTS whose reputation speaks for itself. We know ourselves through our own aerial production work that getting as close to the action as possible is easier and more cost-effective using a drone operated camera than a traditional crane. But without the proper training, it's impossible to fully understand what a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) is capable of capturing or to get the permissions needed to operate legally."

Callum Bannister added: "This new course has been tailored specifically to cover off all the relevant technical know-how as well as practical advice needed to operate a drone successfully for commercial film and TV purposes."

Peter Ansorge, Head of National Film and Television School Short Courses, commented: "We're delighted to partner with AMP to deliver this exciting new short course, the first of its kind aimed at film and television industry professionals. As use cases for drones increase, it is essential that film and television professionals get to grips with what they can accomplish with this kind of equipment and how to operate it safely and legally."

For further information, call Aerial Motion Pictures on 01491 526 700 or 0845 450 9300. Alternatively, visit the NFTS website here.
