Behind-The-Scenes With Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2
In 2016, it was revealed that RED Digital Cinema's WEAPON camera had been selected to capture the new Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 movie.
The camera, which uses an 8K RED DRAGON VV sensor, is able to adapt to various rigs and handheld scenarios. In conjunction with its high image quality, Director of Photography, Henry Braham, BSC, said: "It's a large format camera, and yet it's tiny. And that's its brilliance."
While Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 is now showing in cinemas worldwide, new behind-the-scenes footage has been released by RED. The footage with the film's director James Gunn and director of photography Henry Braham, BSC, see the two discuss their vision for the movie and the experience they wanted to give viewers. Their desire to display a larger-than-life adventure is punctuated with intimate human moments made the compact form factor and large sensor size of the WEAPON 8K VV the perfect camera to capture the immersive experience they desired.
