AREA 48 = Advanced Remote Phosphor Lighting

Specialising in advanced Remote Phosphor lighting technology, with such products as the popular and award-winning AREA 48, PIPELINE and Flyer Systems, Danish manufacturer BB&S are at the forefront of this LED lighting technology.

Remote Phosphor technology differs to other LED technologies in that it puts the colour phosphor on the media in front of the LED instead of coated direct on the LED itself, common in most LED lights. The remote phosphor ensures an even colour perfectly diffused light.

BB&S's REMOTE PHOSPHOR technology is used to great effect in their Flagship AREA 48 Soft fixture, its 98TLCI soft light output packs a punch and is comparable to a 1200 Watt traditional soft light while drawing only 122 watts.

The AREA 48 phosphor panels are interchangeable, allowing users to quickly change the fixture from Daylight to Tungsten, Chroma-Green, Chroma-Blue and even 10,000 K in seconds. The high value CRI & TLCI and compact AREA 48 can be powered by the supplied PSU or via an optional V-Mount or Gold Mount battery adapter.

Used extensively in both broadcast and film the compact AREA 48 is equally at home in a studio or on location, its advanced controller allows perfect dimming 1 – 100% and includes slow, fast and strobe dimming functions too, the fixture can naturally be operated remotely via DMX.

Supplied with Barndoors as standard the AREA 48 is covered by an impressive 3 year warranty, other optional bespoke accessories include carry bags and a range of DOP Choice shaping tools such as Snapgrids and Snapbags.
