DAR'S TRIGGER GOES ON THE ROAD WITH WDR
DIGITAL Audio Research (DAR) have supplied seven of their brand new Trigger Audio Replay Systems to German broadcaster WDR in Cologne, Germany.
Designed as a sound effects play-out solution for live television productions, and for radio, theatre and live events, Trigger is especially suitable for game shows.
WDR's systems have been installed in the broadcaster's fleet of TV OB trucks, including three units in the brand new "FÜ-4" fully digital truck.
Three other Triggers have replaced a variety of live event play-out equipment on three other WDR OB trucks, while the seventh unit is deployed for training and as an emergency back-up, as well as for in-house productions.
Flexibility was a primary consideration for WDR, with the broadcaster initially evaluating DAR's TheatrePlay system some 14 months ago, and coming back to DAR's regional distributor Mega Audio with a wish list of additional facilities and functionality. As a result of this process, the DAR team recognised that there was potential to create a new standalone product.
