VoiceArchive Establishes London Dubbing Division

News Image
Danish company VoiceArchive has established a dubbing division in London.

Consisting of five dubbing studios, including a 1,000 square foot dubbing theatre and a surround-sound mixing studio, ADRenaline Dubbing Division provides lip-sync dubbing in all languages, automated dialogue replacement (ADR), sound design, Foley and access services for broadcast including audio description (AD), subtitling and, in their green screen studio, on-screen sign language interpretation.

In addition to their extensive on-site recording facilities, the company also have access to ISDN, Source Connect and ipDTL systems for remote contribution, and they mix and master to R128 broadcast and cinematic standards.

As Europe's leading voice-over agency, representing over 1,000 voice talents worldwide, VoiceArchive has built a global production setup, enabling them to service global brands like Google, AirBNB, BMW and Sony effectively.

Stefan Werge, CEO of VoiceArchive Global, explains: "By extending the capability of our services to include theatrical lip-sync dubbing for film, TV and games, we manifest VoiceArchive as a true full-service voice-over agency. Establishing the UK studios strengthens our local presence and ability to understand and meet the needs of our UK and global customers alike."

Since moving to the site in late 2016, the ADRenaline Dubbing Division has already worked on productions from Channel 4, Netflix and Studiocanal, and dubs all output for the world's largest fitness company, Les Mills into eight languages. The team focuses on localisation of broadcast material into all world languages, paying special attention to the translation and adaptation stages to ensure the finished, recorded content.

The company exclusively uses the rythmoband method of cueing actors, a system widely used in France and Canada, which produces super-accurate lip-sync much more quickly than other systems. It also encourages better performances from the actors as it allows them to concentrate on the acting rather than the sync.

John Harley, UK CEO, elaborates: "The Rythmoband Software enables us to push the boundaries of quality and lead time for professional dubbing."

The efficiency is apparent from the many series, cartoons, documentaries and movies that has been dubbed by ADRenaline in the company's relatively short lifespan.

"Once a voice talent has tried the Rythmoband technique a couple of times, you really start to see how they are able to channel most of their energy into acting," John explains. "We can produce perfect lip syncs in one take, which translates both the verbal and non-verbal communication from the original speech."

VoiceArchive will also be establishing dubbing workshops for actors, to be held regularly within their flagship studio, Studio One. The actors will benefit from receiving one-to-one tuition from experienced dubbing actors, editors and producers. Actors will leave with a dubbing showreel and will also be considered as cast members for ADRenaline Dubbing Division's many theatrical dubbing projects.
