ADR TO SELL AND SUPPORT PRODYS CODECS

AUDIO Design (Recording) have announced their recent appointment to sell and support the Prodys range of audio codecs.
Javier Lizuain, Director General of Prodys said: “ADR was selected to represent our company in the UK because of it’s high level of engineering competence and broadcast experience brought to the company by Richard Strang, a former technical manager of ASC who were very successful with our products before.”
ADR said that a great deal of interest was being shown by broadcasters in Prodys’ Kronos. This is a cost effective E1/T1 multiplexer offering total flexibility of channel assignment in a 2Meg carrier. The unit is capable of working directly to the digital AES/EBU protocol or to analogue sources.
With a complete range of 1U rack units, Prodys offer high quality, low cost solutions for moving audio data around. Using ISDN or X21 audio is transmitted as MPEG layer 2 or 3. The Pronto 3 BACKUP ensures program channel integrity by automatically switching to ISDN in the case of leased line failure.
With any Pronto there is no need to use telephone hybrids anymore – go straight from incoming calls to digital desks via AES/EBU protocol.
Managing Director of ADR Ian Harley said: “To celebrate our appointment, we are currently running a promotion to our customers whereby they can purchase the desirable Pronto3 audio codec at the Pronto2 price.”
HE said that ADR would be working closely with system installers and broadcast equipment dealers alike.
