Black Diamond produce 'Golf California' series

Black Diamond Films, a UK based producer and distributor of live action and lifestyle programming, have produced 'Golf California', a 13 x 30' series sponsored by United Airlines and the Golf Owners Association of California.
The series has been licensed by the Travel Channel over a three year period where Golf California can be aired anywhere across their UK and Europe footprint. The series is due to be aired in Spring 2004.
Guy Chambers, Managing Director of Black Diamond, said: "Golf California came to light as a result of the success of 'Ski America', a 12 x 30' series produced by Black Diamond in 2001.
"On that occasion, United Airlines sponsored the programme along with the featured ski resorts. This was the first time United ventured into programming but since they have developed a programming policy to reflect this success."
Ski America was seen to have had such a positive effect on the ski resorts business that Black Diamond Films were then approached by the Golf Owners Association of California and United Airlines to produce a similar programme with a golf focus.
Mike Tunnicliffe, United Airlines European marketing manager, added: "This venture presents United Airlines with an opportunity to communicate with an audience that is known to travel frequently and also provides us with a chance to promote our services to California and across the United States."
