Doughty Debuts New Pole Operated Yoke At BVE

News Image
A new Pole Operated Yolk is set to be the star attraction on the Doughty Engineering stand at this year's BVE show.

The company has chosen BVE as the platform from which to launch their latest piece of kit since it is set to be of particular benefit to the film and TV industry.

Visitors to stand D39 will also get the opportunity to see a wide range of items on display, including the award winning Modular Rigging System as well as a selection of grip, rigging, suspension and lifting equipment.

Julian Chiverton, Sales Director at Doughty, commented: "We're looking forward to another successful year at BVE and are particularly excited to be launching our latest product at this year's show. We believe that our customers in the broadcast industry will really reap the benefits of the Pole Operated Yolk, which, like many of our products has been designed to make life easier for the user – which is extremely necessary in the fast paced world of film and TV."

The new piece of kit is modular in design and as such can be made exactly to customer specification from existing stock – hence a quick turnaround between order and delivery. Designed to stretch and shorten to fit any sized light, the yolk is fitted to a light with two cups which pan and tilt – and being pole operated, this enables the operator to make any adjustments from the ground, taking away the need to have ladders cluttering up the set and posing potential safety hazards.

Julian continued: "As we continue to work more closely with the broadcast industry and see our customer base in this sector increase, we are on a continual learning curve. Shows like BVE are invaluable to us – it's where we get the opportunity to find out what boxes our products need to tick to make them invaluable pieces of kit. Feedback is essential to our R&D team and we look forward to gathering opinion on the yolk and of course finding out what other products are on our customers' wish list that we have the potential to develop."
