Shure Unveils Three New Products

News Image
Shure has unveiled three new products at ISE 2017, 7 – 10 February, RAI, Amsterdam.

The first announcement is the addition of a new ISO 20109-compliant Interpretation Console and Electronic Name Sign to the company's range of conferencing products for use with the DCS 6000 Digital Conference System. The Interpretation Console is designed to give conference interpreters more control and flexibility, while the Name Sign provides a programmable electronic sign that makes it easy to identify conference participants.

The Interpretation Console features a control layout with a large colour information screen, three outgoing language channels, and eight relay buttons. Controls are easy to locate by touch, and Braille labels and audible cues are included for visually-impaired users. The screen can be configured to show language channels or information about the speaker or agenda, and preferred configuration settings can be saved to a USB drive or NFC card and then recalled later to configure another console with the same settings. The unit is fully compliant with ISO 20109 requirements for simultaneous interpretation equipment.

The Electronic Name Sign uses a four-bit grayscale e-ink screen to display easily readable names, titles, or other text or images. For further flexibility, each side of the display can show different text. The unit can be permanently installed or placed on a table for temporary events. When used with the DCS 6000 Digital Conference System and SW6000 software, the screen content can be automatically updated through the DCS-LAN connection to identify the participant that has logged in at that seat. The Name Sign can be used with SW6000 software, stand-alone with the DIS-CCU Central Control Unit and its browser control interface, or completely stand-alone with other Shure microphone solutions such as Microflex wired or wireless systems. When used as a stand-alone unit, it can be programmed from a laptop via a USB port.

Shure has also introduced the IntelliMix P300 Audio Conferencing Processor. This is a new digital signal processor created specifically for conferencing applications. It offers Shure IntelliMix DSP algorithms that enhance the audio quality in video meetings, a variety of connectivity options, plus operation with Shure Microflex Advance and Microflex Wireless microphone solutions for AV conferencing.

The processor connects up to eight Dante microphone channels to a room video system, USB soft codec, or mobile device. Each channel supports multiple IntelliMix DSP features, including Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC), Noise Reduction, and Automatic Gain Control, plus automatic mixing.

USB connectivity enables the P300 to be used with common soft codec programs such as Skype and BlueJeans, while the 3.5 mm connector means anyone on a mobile phone or tablet can bring any remote participant into the conversation. The compact half-rack footprint enables discrete installation behind a display, under a table, or in a credenza.

Lastly, Shure has announced the expansion of its ULX-D Digital Wireless System, adding two meeting-friendly microphone transmitters for live business events to the ULX-D offerings. The new ULXD6 boundary and ULXD8 gooseneck transmitters offer ULX-D sound quality with low latency, signal stability, high spectral efficiency, encryption technology, and are compatible with rechargeable Lithium-Ion or standard AA batteries. They also work in the UHF TV band as well as other frequency bands, providing operability in countries or environments where Microflex Wireless bands are already used or unavailable.

The ULXD6 boundary and the ULXD8 gooseneck transmitter offer a low-profile form factor. They have a long transmission range – up to 330 feet/100 metres – and a selection of antenna distribution components. Both ULX-D additions run with standard AA batteries or Shure SB900A rechargeable batteries.
