Leeds School Video Becomes Global Success
One school's promotional video has gone viral, with tens of thousands of views in just a few weeks.
The film was commissioned by Carr Manor Community School in Leeds to promote the school as a whole, but also to highlight one of the key policies of the school which is “restorative practice”.
The film has not only been a hit with the local community but also has been viewed around the world by educators who are interested in learning more about the success achieved by Carr Manor School in using the "restorative practice" approach.
Simon Flowers, Executive Principal at Carr Manor Community School, commissioned the four-minute video as part of a wider strategy to build and maintain links with the local community and to share with others their story. He said the film had gained "a significant amount of hits – proving that the film has met a need and worked effectively to deliver the school's unique message".
He went on to say: "The films have been heavily used and promoted by the school and more so by partners interested in Restorative Practice and the way the school works. The films have communicated quite a complex organisation effectively to a wide range of audiences."
The films were produced by fortyfoursixteen films. The company's Director Neil Waddington said: “We're delighted that Carr Manor has enjoyed so much success from the video we produced and been able to share its approach to education with the world. As a parent myself I believe that schools can engage parents and the community at large much more effectively by using online video as a means of communication.”
In the wake of the video's popularity, Carr Manor has commissioned further videos from fortyfoursixteen and plan to maintain the high levels of communication they now enjoy with the local community and beyond.
