New Director for Sky TV’s Ireland operation

SKY TV have announced the appointment of a new director for the Ireland.
Mark Deering (38) has been invested into the newly created director’s post and will take up his position on February 18 2002.
Mr Deering's responsibilities will include sales, commercial, regulatory and other matters and will report to Julian Eccles, the company's director of communications and corporate affairs.
Mr Deering, a law graduate from University College, Dublin, had been director of regulatory and business affairs for the Republic’s TV3 channel for the past two years. He is familiar with the company, having previously worked at Sky from 1995-99, primarily on European Affairs.
Mr Deering said: “For over a decade Sky has offered a great service to Irish viewers and has now helped make Ireland one of the leading digital TV nations in the world.”
Last year, Sky announced that it had 193,000 customers in Ireland. (GMcG)
