Nippon Television put trust in DVS equipment

Japan's top-rated commercial television broadcaster, Nippon Television (NTV), have installed 13 HDStationRGB digital disk recorders from DVS.
The systems are now being used for the production of weather forecasts and news, virtual reality and CG applications as well as on-air servers for weather transmissions. "We are convinced that the HDStationRGB recorders best suit our requirements. We were looking for disk recorders that assure both speed and reliability in handling high resolution video", said Toru Fujihara, Technical Director at NTV.
NTV were the first Japanese commercial broadcast station and have been transmitting since 1953. In November this year NTV moves into new offices at Shiodome, Tokyo.
For DVS this is the biggest single sale in 2003 so far. It underlines the trend of HD broadcasters to favour disk-recording solutions over tape. This is especially so in Japan, where HD transmission is more widespread than elsewhere.
Hans-Ulrich Weidenbruch, Managing Director, of DVS: "We're delighted to be the supplier of choice for such a reputable broadcaster as NTV. We have sold many HD disk recorders before to Japanese broadcasters, but never of this magnitude".
The HDStationRGB is a powerful disk recording solution with Raid3 disk redundancy protection. It captures and plays out uncompressed HD RGB data up to 2K in 10 bit.
