Channel 4 Commissions My Beauty Secret

Channel 4 has commissioned a new one-off programme, My Beauty Secret (w/t), which will look at the nation's attitude toward people with visible facial conditions, and their experiences living with them.

The 1x60' episode will be presented by Katie Piper. She will offer help and advice to those affected by conditions from Port Wine Stain or Rosacea, scars, or Alopecia, with the aim of increasing their confidence and self-esteem.

Katie will meet contributors who suffer from the same facial condition. However, the way in which they deal with the condition will differ greatly; one chooses to cover up with make-up and the other doing nothing. When they meet at Make-up HQ, one will be stripped bare of the make-up they use to share their story of self-empowerment to help people in a similar position.

My Beauty Secret is an inspirational new show which, using the power of make-up not only helps people with facial conditions but also offers tips and tricks to those who feel they need a helping hand in the beauty stakes."

My Beauty Secret (w/t) was commissioned by Channel4 Features Editor Helen Cooke. It will be produced by Remarkable Television, part of the Endemol Shine Group. The Executive Producers are Kitty Walshe and Clare Hollywood.
