Sony technology showcase at VideoForum 2002

THE industry’s leading companies will be using VideoForum 2002 at London’s Wembley Hall 1 to showcase the latest state-of-the-art technology in the marketplace.
At Stand 312, Sony will be exhibiting a range of products including professional camcorders, VTRs and non-linear editors and the latest in LCD technology and audio equipment.
On display will be Sony’s range of MPEG IMX products including the multi-format VTRs – developed from the DVCAM, Betacam SX and Digital Betacam technology.
Visitors to VideoForum 2002 can see the new J-Series compact players, which are available in either analogue or SDI and can operate for a simple desktop viewer or non-linear feeder. These products are designed to assist anyone involved with ½” tapes or the introduction of material that has been acquired on MPEG IMX.
Also on view will be the new MPEG IMX camcorder – the MSW-900P. The MSW-900P Camcorder is widescreen switchable and features the latest developments in CCD and LSI technologies. This camcorder offers high picture quality approaching that of Digital Betacam and functionality suitable for a wide range of applications such as TV drama, sports, general TV production, animation and news.
The Sony stand and its HD pavilion will also be showing the High Definition VTR and the HDW-F900 camcorder, which offer a digital alternative to 35mm film. There will also be demonstrations of Sony’s non-liner editor, XPRI – a new NLE, capable of native high definition and MPEG IMX editing.
VideoForum 2002 runs from February 5-7 at Wembley Hall 1 in London. (GMcG)
