'Gosford Park' leads British wave of BAFTA nominations

Robert Altman's murder-mystery feature film, Gosford Park, co-financed by the Film Council's Premiere Fund, has been nominated for nine BAFTA Awards.
The nominations are: The Alexander Korda Award For The Outstanding British Film Of The Year, The Carl Foreman Award, The David Lean Award For Achievement In Direction, Screenplay (Original), Performance By An Actress In A Supporting Role, Production Design, Costume Design and Make Up & Hair
The nominees for the Carl Foreman Award for the most promising newcomer in British film from the specific disciplines of screenwriting and/or production and/or direction highlights some of the best in home-grown UK filmmaking talent including: Steve Coogan and Henry Normal for The Parole Officer, Joel Hopkins and Nicola Usborne for Jump Tomorrow, Ruth Kenley-Letts for Strictly Sinatra, Jack Lothian for Late Night Shopping and Richard Parry for South West 9.
