VMI Launch Apprentice Competition

VMI has launched a competition, offering the winner a job as a full-time Junior Camera Technician with the company. On-the-job training will also be provided.

The Junior Camera Technician will join VMI's camera hire department.

Circumventing the usual background requirement of a minimum two years' relevant experience for consideration, the business is searching for someone with attitude, gumption, love of camera technology, self-confidence, energy, common-sense, hunger for learning, ability to work independently and a can-do attitude.

Applications must be submitted by 12 noon on Monday 1 August, and must include a covering letter of why the applicant believes they are right for the job, what their skills are and their experience (500 word limit). Full contact details should also be included.

Successful applicants will be informed by 5pm on Monday 1 August to join the VMI Apprentice competition. The company will take on up to eight interns to commence work at 9am on Tuesday 2 August. They will receive £75 per week expenses allowance for duration of the Internship Apprentice Period, payable weekly.

Apprentices will be continually appraised on how they perform on tasks to be given, and steadily, unsuccessful candidates will be fired. At the end of a five-week period, the successful candidate will be employed as a full-time Junior Technician.
