Channel 4 Commissions 'My Floating Home'

Channel 4 has announced it is to commission seven episodes of My Floating Home, by international indie Windfall Films, in co-production with Remedy Canada, a Vancouver-based production company.

Presented by Mark Evans, My Floating Home follows couples and families taking the plunge in leaving land-locked suburbia in pursuit of the dream of owning and living in the ultimate waterside home.

But, with traditional waterfront properties hard to come by and coming with a hefty price tag, these people are going it alone and commissioning their own waterborne homes.

Moored along riverbanks and marinas and boasting stunning views anchored in locations in the UK and across the world, sales of floating homes are booming. Each episode in this series follows families and couples as they build and furnish their own floating home, capturing the process and drama from start to finish.

The series highlights the unique architecture and interior design of aquatic homes, exploring all the key stages in each project – from the engineering challenges of building on water to the innovative eco-features inside and out.
