Firms Join albert's New Affiliate Membership

albert has announced its new affiliate programme which is aimed at supporting indies succeeding in environmental sustainability. The first three indies to sign up to the scheme are Keo Films, Icon Films, and Roughcut Television.
BAFTA's albert consortium launched in 2011 and has worked to develop tools, training and guidance to support an environmentally sustainable TV industry. To make carbon reduction more accessible for the wider industry, the consortium is encouraging independent production companies to join the consortium as an affiliate member.
albert affiliation displays a shared vision for an environmentally sustainable industry, enables supported use of the consortium's tools, offers free access to training and ensures members are informed, and able to contribute to, all the consortium's projects.
Kevin Price, BAFTA COO and Consortium Chair, said: "Some serious and necessary international climate commitments recently made history and I believe we must do everything in our power to turn those pledges into reality. The ability to work with a greater proportion of the industry is a significant step forward and I warmly welcome the first three of our affiliate members, who I am sure will make a massive contribution going forward."
Debbie Manners, CEO, Keo Films, added: "The work albert is doing is invaluable and as an ethical company it makes total sense for Keo to be involved as much as possible in the future sustainability of our industry."
