Creative Industries' Apprenticeships To Be Recognised
Celebrating Apprenticeships in the Creative Industries has announced one of its keynote speakers for this year's event. The event, which will be held in London on 16 March, will feature Nadhim Zahawi MP, Prime Minister David Cameron's Advisor on Apprenticeships, as one of the keynote speakers.
Zahawi will discuss the UK Government's future plans for apprenticeships and skills, as well as the benefits of employing an apprentice and the role they can play in individual business and the wider industry.
The one-day event has been organised by skills and training provider NXG Group, and takes place during the Government's National Apprenticeship Week (14 – 18 March). It is aimed at senior executives in the creative industries and those involved in apprenticeships, and brings together professionals to discuss the government's plans, best practice in the industry, and how to add value to a business through apprenticeships.
Other key speakers and panellists at the event include:
• Tim Patterson, ex Vice President of Nickelodeon, who will speak about the importance of apprenticeships in the broadcasting sector including apprenticeship and apprentice experiences he's had in the past as a department head.
• Richard Woods, a finalist in the BBC's Apprentice series, who will talk about his experience of running a business and hiring apprentices and the how they have helped him grow his business.
Michael Kosmas, CEO of NXG Group, said: "I am delighted to have Nadhim and a number of high profile industry figures on board for what promises to be a dynamic and informative event. Working in partnership with government and local communities NXG seeks to bridge the gap between the classroom and the industry. Young people offer a valuable and beneficial strata to the workforce and this event marks a significant step forward in raising the profile of apprenticeships within the creative sector."
Celebrating Apprenticeships in the Creative Industries event takes place at Empire Leicester Square, on Wednesday 16 March 2016 from 2pm to 5pm.
