'Who's The Boss?' Commissioned For BBC Two

A new 3 x 60' series has been commissioned for BBC Two, entitled Who's The Boss?

The programmes, which are due to air this Spring, will see three British businesses turning the tables when it comes to recruitment. Each episode will follow a different business who put the workforce in charge of hiring their own boss. Known as 'collaborative hiring' in order to find the best candidate for the job, the series will see the employees decide on the right person for the job, rather than the bosses.

BrewDog, the Aberdeenshire-based craft beer company; national fruit and veg supplier Reynolds; and Beech's, a fine chocolate manufacturer based in Preston, are all looking to appoint middle managers.

Each candidate will take part in an immersive week-long job interview, involving challenging assessments and tasks. What they don't know, is that it is the employees watching, scrutinising and scoring their every move, before they vote on which candidate should get the job.

Rachel Ashdown, commissioning editor, said: "Who's The Boss? is a revealing insight into how three very different companies deal with an innovative form of recruitment and what happens when the power shifts in the workplace."

Adam Barker, BBC Two Channel Editor, added: "From Dragons' Den to The Apprentice: You're Fired, BBC Two has a strong track record of entertaining and informative business programming and this new series is a funny and revealing insight into a new hiring technique that could challenge the way we view democracy in the workplace."
