HHB Installs Recording System At UHI

A music production recording system has been supplied and installed by HHB Communications at the Alness campus of North Highland College. The college is part of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) in Scotland.

Based around an Audient ASP4816 mixer and an Avid Pro Tools HD Native DAW, the hybrid analogue and digital system provides students with a range of technology that can be used for traditional multi-microphone recording and computer-based composition. HHB also supplied an Avid S3 control surface, various outboard processors, cabling and technical furniture from StudioRacks.

For the project, HHB undertook a pre-delivery configuration and set up, thereby reducing time on site to ensure an efficient installation. Two of the HHB installation team travelled to Inverness to carry out the on-site installation and training.

"This has been an interesting project as we needed to balance the college's teaching requirements with the available budget and some restraints on the physical space," said Andrew Hingley, Sales Manager, HHB. "The combination of the Audient analogue mixer with Avid Pro Tools and S3 controller provides an exciting hybrid system, that can be used for almost any type of music production."

"After receiving a number of quotes for our studio installation we went with HHB due to their attention to detail," added Peter Noble, lecturer, North Highland College. They provided a variety of options at a variety of prices and came back with tweaks throughout the procurement. The installation was thorough and HHB have been available and quick to respond to any queries."
