BBC Two Welcomes Return Of Stewart Lee

Stewart Lee is to return to BBC Two with a new series of Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle, it has been announced.

The series will be filmed in front of a live audience at the Mildmay Club and will feature new stand-up material, with each episode concluding in a short film.

Each episode will cover various topics including childhood memories, death, Islamophobia, the migrant crisis, patriotism and wealth.

Comedian Stewart Lee said: "For each new series of Comedy Vehicle I wonder where the ideas will come from. But the world gets worse every year, and I myself become older and more jaded, more defeated, and more powerless, and hence the comedy arises once more."

Richard Webb, executive producer for the BBC, added: "I'm not quite sure how he does it, but once again Stewart has put together three hours of brilliant stand up material, and will be unleashing his unique take on the world on BBC Two early next year."

The 6x30' series is written by Stewart Lee, and produced and executive produced by Richard Webb, BBC, with Tim Kirkby as director. The show was commissioned by Kim Shillinglaw, Controller of BBC Two and BBC Four, and Shane Allen, Controller of Comedy Commissioning for the BBC.
